Diet and Pregnancy

Get all the important tips for healthy pregnancy. Learn the kinds of foods that you should avoid, the foods you should eat, supplements during pregnancy and healthy Diet Plans during pregnancy.

1- As a pregnant should you eat differently??
During pregnancy you should take more minerals, acids and vitamins especially if you follow poor Diet…also you need to add few more calories and the important step is to make sure what you eat not how much you eat.
                                                                                         
                               
2- What kinds of foods should you eat during pregnancy??
                                                                                                                   
* Dairy products and Milk:- add these kinds of foods to your daily meals because these foods full of calcium and protein like yogurt, buttermilk, cheese, skimmed milk….etc.                                                                                                 
* Whole grains, cereals and nuts:- if you are Vegetarian or don't eat meat you can eat more of these nuts and cereals that full of protein. 
                                                                           
* Vegetables:- very good sources of different vitamins and fiber. 
* Poultry, Meat and Fish:- sources of concentrated protein.
* Fluids:- you should drink a lot of liquids especially water and fresh juices.
* Fats and oils:- vegetable oils are the best fat source because it contains unsaturated fats compared with butter and ghee that contain unhealthy fats.

3- Do you need eating more as a pregnant??
You will hear many voices that will advice you eating more but, in the first six months you won't need extra calories and only in the last months you can add extra 200 calories daily to your Diet.


4- What kinds of foods should you avoid to eat??
* Un-pasteurized milk, under cooked meat, under cooked poultry, raw seafood, canned fish that preserved in salt solution, alcoholic drinks which cause many problem like physical defects.

5- What about taking supplements??
It's a good idea to take minerals and vitamins during pregnancy such as folic acid and vitamin B but you should take these supplements under your doctor supervision.

6- What about going on a Diet during pregnancy months??
Some kinds of Diets can leave your body low on folic acid, iron, vitamins…etc so we can say that Dieting may cause harm to your baby and you should know that gaining more weight is one of the positive signs about the healthy pregnancy because you may gain weight about 8:15 kgs, so don't worry.

7- How many meals that should you take in pregnancy months??
You can eat 6 small meals instead of 3 big meals to keep your energy.
